Welcome to Class 5B!
In 5B, our teacher is Ms Blackledge and our SSAs are Mr Lander and Miss Makda.
We have PE on Wednesdays (outdoor) and Thursdays (indoor).
Children have reading response books for their home reading in which we expect children to complete a response task (see the grid in the front of the book) after they have read a few chapters; children should still be reading daily at home.
Homework is given out every Tuesday to be returned the following Tuesday. The children are expected to complete one piece of English homework and one piece of maths homework every week. If you have any questions about this, please don't hesitate to contact me at school.
Week beginning 24th September 2018
We've had another busy week in 5B and have done lots of interesting work. In writing, we are now planning our own Arctic legends based on the English legend of Robin Hood; we have also been reading about the Welsh legend of Taliesin, the Irish legend of Finn McCool and the Danish legend of Beowulf in our guided reading sessions. We have done some fabulous work on written multiplication in maths and will be starting to look at written division next week.
Can we please remind parents that children should be reading daily and that we are expecting them to complete a response task in their reading response books after every few chapters they read - many thanks for your support with this! We still have a number of children who have not brought a PE kit into school yet; outdoor PE takes place on Wednesday afternoons and indoor PE is on Thursday afternoons. Please could you make sure that your child has the appropriate kit in school so that they can participate in PE sessions safely and comfortably.
We hope all the children have a lovely weekend and look forward to welcoming them back to school on Monday!
