The Healthy Eating Club is not running at the moment. We are looking in to funding so that we can start again next half term.
Our healthy eating club last year was funded by Tesco's 'The Eat Happy Project/Let's Get Cooking' project. Miss Makda and Mrs Walker (one of our parent helpers), ran the club each Monday after school until 4.30pm. The club was free.
Each half term children from different year groups were given the opportunity to join the club.
Children got to:
- Taste foods from around the world.
- Learn how to store food.
- Consider basic food hygiene.
- Consider healthier options for their diet.
- Develop their cooking skills.
- Feel valued.
The children made and tasted foods that would not normally have considered such as:
- Italian calzone pizza
- Indian biryani
- Chinese vegetable stir fry
- French fruit kebabs
They also enjoyed the end of topic party!!!
We are hoping to secure the funding so we can do a similar project. Keep checking the website for updates.
