Week Beginning 16th March 2020
During these difficult times, we, as a school, are doing our very best to ensure your child's education continues as normally as is possible - even if they are having to stay home from school. To that end, we have put a pack of resources onto class pages for you to print off and for your children to work through. From next week (week beginning 23rd March 2020) children will be set daily online learning tasks on Purple Mash which they are expected to complete and return for marking and this has already been explained to them at school. Please check our school website regularly - as well as your emails and text messages - for any further updates.
Welcome Back
We've got a busy half term ahead of us!
This half term, all the children will be taking part in extra lessons to accelerate
their learning ready for the SATs in May and high school.
Throughout the Spring term we will be helping the children to fulfil their potential.
Please could you help in the following ways by ensuring:
Science
During this half term we will be studying the circulatory system and exercise.
We will be continuing to carry out lots of practical experiments and investigations this half term.
Happy New Year!
Welcome back to another busy term in year six.
Our theme for this term is William Shakespeare’s Macbeth.
In class we will be focussing on play-scripts, descriptions, characterisations and much more.
We will also be reading, watching and discussing different versions of the play.
Year 6 spelling list
Please can you encourage your child to practise the year 6 spellings each week.
Each Tuesday, they will bring a sheet home from school with the spellings that we will be focussing on in class.
We enjoyed using pastels to create a new display for the entrance hallway.
Anti-Bullying Week.
The children worked really hard during Anti-Bullying Week.
We enjoyed a range of activities including drama, class discussions and making chatterboxes.
Homework Club
All year six children have been given a letter about homework club. Please return the completed slip, if your child wants to attend. The club will run every Tuesday from 3.20p.m. until 4.00p.m starting after October half term. The children will have a quiet place to complete homework, use laptops or read. There will be a year six teacher on hand to help with homework or listen to reading.
Every Tuesday, the children will be able to sign up for Homework Club and
you will receive a text message to let you know if your child has decided to stay.
Welcome to our new class webpage!
We've got a busy and exciting year ahead to look forward to!
Homework and Reading
Each week, the children are expected to complete one piece of English homework and one piece of Maths homework. Homework is given out every Tuesday to be returned the following Tuesday. Children should still be reading daily for ten minutes or more at home.
P.E. Lessons
Outdoor P.E. is on Tuesday and Indoor P.E. is on Wednesday.
Please can children have a full kit for both indoor and outdoor P.E. lessons in school at all times.
