Football trials and squad

Mr Walmsley and Mr Lander have now finished their football trials for Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 and a squad for each group has been chosen.  If your child attended the trials, they should have received a letter to let them know if they have been chosen for any of the squads.

Tuesday 2nd October, Mr Lander started to coach the Year 3/4 squad.

Wednesday 3rd October, Mr Walmsley started to coach the Year 5/6 squad.

The Year 5/6 team competed in the Jubilee Shield cup competition.  See below for a report on the competition from one of the team members.

The Year 5/6 team will be competing in the EFL Cup at Blackburn Rovers Indoor Centre (BRIC) on Wednesday 5th December 2018.  Parents/Carers are welcome to go along to support their children.  Apologies but are no longer able to enter a team for this event.

They will also compete in a football league competition as well as a competition at the Blackburn Rovers Indoor Centre (BRIC).  Dates have still to be confirmed.

The Year 3/4 team will be competing in a cup competition and another competition at the BRIC.  dates to be confirmed.

Girls football

Mr Monaghan has started football coaching on Monday evenings 3.20pm until 4.20pm with the Year 5/6 girls who were chosen for the girls squad after being successful at the trials.

The first knock out stage for the cup competition will take place at St Bede's Sports College Astro-Turf on Tuesday 27th November.  If successful, the girls will compete in the finals on Tuesday 4th December, again at St Bede's Sports College.  This event was postponed due to water logged pitches at St Bede's.  The new date is Tuesday 4th December at 4pm until 5.45pm.  Spectators are very welcome. 

We are so proud of our girls who qualified for the finals of the competition against some tough opposition.  The final will be on Tuesday 11th December at 4pm until 5.45pm.  Spectators are very welcome.  Well done girls.

Unbelievable!!!!  We won the Blackburn with Darwen Competition and will now compete at Fleetwood's Training Ground on Friday January 25th.  We will be playing against schools from other authorities.  Details will be sent out after Christmas.  We are so very proud.  Check out some photographs below.

The girls will also be competing in the new girls football league, dates of which will be announced as soon as they are available.
