Art- Oh I do like to be beside the seaside
ACTIVITY 1
Research paintings of the sea or the coast.
Create your own PowerPoint of the painting you have found
ACTIVITY 2
Draw a lighthouse or a beach house using images found
ACTIVITY 3
Create your own seascape picture using pencils, collage or paint

Create a PowerPoint on purple mash about the Victorian holiday in Blackpool.

ACTIVITY 1
Research the following questions and create a mind map with other questions
Where is Blackpool located?
What other towns and villages are there nearby? What do we already know about Blackpool? What are our opinions of Blackpool? On what do we base those opinions? What do we want to find out about Blackpool? Why is Blackpool popular? How long has Blackpool been popular as a tourist destination?

Step1: in the search box type in Blackpool Lancashire
Step 2: click on image search button and look at the images of Blackpool
ACTIVITY 2
Locate Blackpool on a large scale Ordnance Survey map using digimap website from activity 1.Look at the town and the surrounding area, what human and physical features can you see? Can yousee railway lines, tramlines, shops, amusement parks? How else is land used in the area? Are the features natural (physical) or man-made (human)?

Step 3: use the key button on the left hand side tool bar and identify human and physical features on the map. e.g Railway station: human feature and River:physical feature
Step 4: Use the drawing tools to add a text box where you see these features

How can we tell what the distances on the map are? For example, how far is it from North Pier to South Pier on the map?

Step 3:Click on the map selector button and select the map fom the 1950s and 1890s. Compare them to the map of Blackpool today.
Use the slide at the top of the box to see how lackpool changed over the years.
