Welcome to the Year 5 homepage

Welcome back to the new academic year...Where did those summer holidays go? I really do hope you had a great break and that you are raring to go with year 5. I do apologise for your child being stuck with Me again (Mr Crowther) but I think I have a really good connection with the children and I know I can help your child progress. Mr Alli, who is also in year 5, cannot wait to get going and welcome his class back. 

Our first topic for this half term will be 'United Kingdom' this will cover some fascinating subjects and children have already produced some amazing work learning about Anglo Saxons and from the whole class studying the novel 'The Outlaws' by Michael Morpurgo. To find out more about our learning this half term please see the 'Big Picture' section below. As always, we continue to place an emphasis on reading, learning spellings and of course times tables facts. Please find a little time to read with your child and help them to learn their spellings (the new weekly words are in our spellings section) and their times tables facts.
