Residential Visits

Year 4 residential to Coniston Waters 19th - 21st June 2024

After very successful art/creative residential visits to Lanehead in 2019, and 2022 for Year 4 children, we have made a booking for June 2024 for the current Year 4's.  This is an Art based residential visit focussing on the work and home of John Ruskin who lived on the edge of Consiton Waters.

There will be a meeting for parents/carers on 25th January 2024 for those interested in their child taking part in the visit.

Year 5 residential visit to France 4th March to 8th March 2024

We are so excited about the above residential visit going ahead.

The planning is in an advance state. The risk assessments have been submitted to Blackburn with Darwen for approval and the collective passport application has been submitted to HM Passport Office.  Just a reminder that your child will require a Global Health Information Card known as a GHIC card to visit France. If they already have a valid European Health Information card or EHIC prior to the UK leaving the EU, this will still be acceptable.

This GHIC is completely free and you can apply on line at:

https://www.nhs.uk/using-the-nhs/healthcare-abroad/apply-for-a-free-uk-global-health-insurance-card-ghic/

Please be wary of websites that offer to apply for the card for you but charge for doing so.  The NHS website is completely free to apply and it is relatively easy to use. You can also apply for the whole family at the same time if you need to do so.   If you need any support completing the form, please contact school and we will be happy help.

There will be a final meeting in February for parents/carers of children who are going to France.  At this meeting will will give you a kit list, parental information pack and explain the final arrangements for the visit.

Thank you to all the parents/carers who have supported this visit.
